1) David
Lee, PF, Florida
Lee finished the Chicago pre-draft camp with 20 points and grabbing seven
boards. He was the MVP of the camp and would make a great backup PF for
Zach and he has great hustle on both ends of the court. Mark Madson is
a poor man's David Lee.
2) Luther
Head, G, Illinois
Head has a great shot, athleticism, versatility and defense. He could
very well be taken in the first round but with such a deep draft he could
very well slip to the Blazers. He won't last long in the second.
3) Roko
Ukic, PG Croatia Ukic is averaging 18.5 ppg and 4.3 apg
on 54 percent shooting. Ukic declared for the 2004 draft,
but pulled out after he couldn't secure a promise in the
first round. Ukic played in the Nike Hoop Summit in San Antonio
and held Sebastian Telfair to 1-10 shooting from the field.
He is the team captain on his Euro squad and has great height
for a PG at 6'5".
4) Jason
Maxiell, PF, Cincinnati
Maxiell was an absolute beast in scrimmages but pulled out of the camp
after one so-so game. The rumors were flying everywhere that he got a
promise in the first round. He has athleticism, strength, 7-foot-3 wingspan
and aggression . If he were two or three inches taller, he'd be a lottery
pick. He has already worked out for the Blazers, so they know what he
can do.
5) Alan Anderson, SG, Michigan
State
After Lee and Head, he was the best player in Chicago. Anderson's athleticism,
strength and ability to get into the lane and draw fouls impressed just
about everyone. He would be a great prospect for a Blazer team that is
desperate for depth at the SG position.
6) Pops Mensah-Bosu, PF, George
Washington
Pops is an absolute athletic freak and showed that he has some skills
at the Chicago pre-draft camp.
7) Eddie
Basden, SG, Charlotte
Basden is a great defender and would add perimeter defense to a Blazer
squad that needs it. He also has a nice outside shot.
8) Drago
Pasalic, PF, Croatia
Pasalic has had two great camps and a great season in Croatia. There
are concerns about position and toughness, but his production is tough
to quibble with.
9) Brandon
Rush, SG, High School
Rush exceed expectations at the Chicago camp and showed that he could
play with some top college talent He wont make the first round though.
The fact that he's still talking about the NBA makes you wonder if he
has the grades to be eligible at a D-I school.
10) Nate
Robinson, G, Washington He might be very short but he
can absolutely jump out of the building and can ignite the
offense in amazing ways. Think Spudd Webb but a just a bit
taller.
