They begin with Mikes Golf Tournament....coming up Amnesty News, deadline is 9 PM PST. Bobby Medina Blazers Training coach, will update Zach and Jarret jack on their injuries. Charles Smith is on later, he's in Texas getting ready for the season...they say everybody is waiting on the Michael Finley decision, all the drama. Dallas Trade or Waive? Who knows. They say Jackie Christie will be on air, I'm not sure if this is a joke or not but she’s Doug Christies crazy wife. They are discussing what the rumors have been surrounded with her. They say Brian Grant will sign a one year deal 1.67 million with the Suns. (Spelling Errors)

Mike again left golfing early to be on Courtside; Bobby Medina is now on, the Blazers Training Coach. "What is Zach's Situation?" Zach’s doing a great job, on the bike all the time. He looks better then the start of last season. He is very slim now. He has also changed his diet, works out every day. "When you look at Zach, do you look at his weight as a factor for being effective" He weighs 251lbs a pretty good weight for him. They want him this weight, its fine for him. "How close is Zach to playing pick up games?" Any Target Dates? We are working really hard with him...(They lost Bobs phone connection) They are joking about bobs cheap cell phone, lol. Now they discuss a backup for Zach, do we need another power forward? More coming soon...

Bob is back on, joking around again. Joel’s wife said Przybilla is working out, Bob says he looks great. Likes to call everyone during the summer to check out how they are doing and what they are doing to improve their games. They are praising Joel for being healthy this season for the most part. He said we'll be very surprised at Joel. More intense work outs for the younger players, rehab mostly for the older guys. Jarret Jack--they worked out with him but not too much, he plans to come back to Portland right around Labor Day and Bobs excited to work with him. Not too much more info on Jack. Telfair looks great, he's in Florida at a camp with his agent. Bob is going to help out at the Michael Jordan Camp. $15,000 dollars to get in that camp (DANG). 35+ older men. Says only 100 players usually show up. Thanks Bobby for the update. Nate McMillan wants players to arrive after Labor Day to start pick up games. Next they'll discuss the mess in Atlanta, nothing too important right now.

You all know the situation about JJ and him being traded to Atlanta. Very bitter situation. David Stern called the superior court judge and pushed for the removal of Belkin. Nothing new. In my opinion, I just hope they get this all said and done as quick as possible, they say JJ should be a Hawk by Friday if Belkin doesn’t appeal. Hawks will get over this mess after they get JJ. Coming up, more Amnesty news.. Reggie Miller Waived, Wesley Person was waived by Miami, Ron Mercer was waived. Dallas is still on hold with Michael Finley. Will not be a Mav next season. They are most likely just waiting for the last minute trades. Allan Houston is still a Knick. On SAR signing with the Kings. $29 Million contract. They say Kings are a better situation than the nets were. Bibby, Miller, SAR, Wells... great line up so far. They are criticizing Isaiah Thomas and how he has really done nothing for the Nicks other than Larry Brown. They (Knicks) are trying to talk Allan Houston into retirement. Jerome Williams as a back up in Portland? Will discuss that in a few.

Jerome Williams? Minimum salary, would he want to be here and would you want him? Mike says yes. Blazers need tremendous chemistry, we need people to underestimate us every night. Jerome will fit into our pattern, (sorry got a phone call) They said they are glad we passed on Brian Grant, we don’t need anymore injury players. They said there will be so much competition for starting. Charles Smith will join us in a few...

Second half of courtside, next week NFL Football Seahawks playing Monday so Courtside will be moved to Tuesday.

Charles Smith is on... he’s in Texas, working out in Texas with Mavs players?? Heard anything about Finley? No he hasn't, he just uses the Mavs facility, nothing to do with Mavs players. Considering how old Smith is, he is considered a Vet. They say Smith has long arms and Steve Kerr praised Charles on his game. Outside shooting? They believe Charles is going to help out the Blazers with that. He's discussing the Euro league and how you HAVE to shoot in order to succeed in that league. He's grateful for the opportunity to play with the Blazers and show everyone what he can do. Charles likes Nate McMillan as a coach and labels him as "his type of coach." Again, they bring up the tremendous competition with the Guard spot, they ask him if that’s what he likes and Charles says he loves to compete for a spot. He goes on to say this is a profession and you have to deal with it and work hard and deserve your spot. Will they have to bring down Travis or Darius, or do u have enough talent for the 2 guard? He believes so. All in all Charles sounds happy and excited to be on the Blazers. Thanks Charles Smith!

They heard that Charles said he was better than Derek Anderson. Joel Przybilla will join them next week, they are discussing how important it is to resign Joel. All's they would have to offer Joel would be MLE. They would have to trade a big contract in able to present Joel with a better contract. Some talk about Theo Ratliff if they find a PF with 1 year remaining on their contract, blazers would be interested in a possible deal. A lot of teams are after Theo, some talk with Dallas and Portland, Theo could be gone if they work out a deal to land Finley. Its just talk right now. Baby Blazers nickname mentioned. Curry and Chandler of the Chicago Bulls havn't been offered much. Could the Blazers be like the Bulls last season? Good chance. Phone lines... talks about Sergei Monia; Sergei will have to shoot the lights out to impress people. Will Nate McMillan play Sergei? Depends on how he does in September and training camp. They aren’t too enthusiastic about Monia. They say Victor has a lot of heart for him coming back from shattering his ankle and going on with the last half of the season. A lot of respect for a guy who plays on a bad ankle while other (past) blazers missed games for a toothache...

Mike Rice’s starting lineup: Joel/Zach/Miles/Telfair/Dixon. Zach is the lowest weight since being a Blazer. ESPN Radio reporter coming up about Michael Finley. Chuck Cooper is on for ESPN radio, Trade or Amnesty? I don't know, they said if there is a trade it will most likely be with Indian Pacers. Dallas acts on the last second, hour and 20 minutes to go. They doubt Dallas will not make a trade. Of course most likely destination for Finley will end up in Miami if he is waived. It will be tough on Cuban to get rid of Finely. Strictly a financial move on the Mavs part. Thanks Chuck. Finely is 38 years old? I didn't know that. The Allen Houston rule should be renamed to the Michael Finley rule.

Clarence Weatherspoon was offered to Portland with Houston for Damon Stoudemire, but Blazers didn’t want the big contract. Damon will most likely start while competing with Bobby Jackson. Mike Rice thinks that SAR saved the Kings. Do you deal Theo or Ruben to create room to sign Przybilla? They are not sure right now. Wait until the trade deadline to decide. Remember, Joel will appear on courtside next Tuesday. Mike Rice believes in starting Juan Dixon and not putting the pressure on Martell Webster. Brian Grant comes to terms with Phoenix, Clearance Weatherspoon waived. Just some of the news. This season will have a tough start. That’s it for Courtside, remember Courtside is on Tuesday next week do to football and Joe will be on. Wow, hurry back BBFan, wish you well. Take care everyone!
