Nash
on right now. This year's group in Chicago is not as good
as last year's. Nash thinks Bogut goes #1 and
Williams goes #2.
Nash quote: "It annoys me if the guy won't
compete for the job." (ripping on Green and Deron Williams
who will only come and do drills, etc.)
"Martell Williams will compete. I like
him a lot."
"We have the opporunity to move back in
the draft."
on Green and Deron Williams: "If they're
not going to compete," then it sounds like we're not
gonna get either of them.
"Chris Paul did the same thing." (didn't
compete)
Nash keeps saying: what does it prove for
a guy to come workout and not compete? At 58 years old
even I can hit a shot unguarded.
"Most teams have Deron Williams ahead of
Chris Paul, because of size."
Basically said if Marvin Williams is available
at the 3, we'll snatch him up.
A team contacted Nash today but they were
not prepared to trade both of their first-round picks.
Nash hasn't seen any validation that we
should take Green at #3.
on Telfair: "He scared Chris Paul out of
a visit "
on a new coach: "We've got three candidates.
We've interviewed five people. Two people have withdrawn."
"We would prefer to have somebody with
previous head-coaching experience but we've interviewed
some assistant coaches as well."He's not sure we'll have
a coach by the draft.

Telfair
training in Sarasota, Florida.
Working out in the morning, playing games
in the afternoon.
Last year Telfair worked out for everybody
(unlike Gerald Green, Chris Paul, etc.).
Telfair: "I think it shows heart and character
when you go out there and play 2-on-2."
On Gerald Green: "I haven't watched him
play much but what I'm hearing from people is that he's
a very talented kid."
On the new coach: "I don't have a favorite.
I haven't played for any of these guys."
Telfair looking forward to a coach who
wants to play up-tempo.
"We have a lot of valuable free agents."
"I think we have the players and the talent
and a great organization."
Sorry I missed some of it in the middle.
